Lets talk Fragrance!

How a man smells is just as important as his clothing. You don’t want to show up to the office, a date or an event looking great and not smelling great, do you? I am a firm believer that I should be smelled before I’m seen. Smelling great that is.

There are 4 types of fragrance categories. With different concentrations of oil:

· Eau Fraiche: 1% - 3% of fragrance oil. This is usually heavily diluted in alcohol or water

· Cologne: 1% - 4% of fragrance oil. These are usually your “knock off” fragrances you find for a couple of dollars.

· Eau de Toilette (EDT): 5% - 15% concentration dissolved in alcohol.

· Eau de Parfum (EDP): 15% - 20% concentration. This is normally associated with female fragrances but many men’s fragrances are manufactured this way now.

There are many different fragrances at many different price points. There are even fragrance services where you get one or more different fragrances every month. Scentbox and scentbird are the 2 biggest now. They are around $15 per month and you get enough for 30 days around 240 sprays. These are good if you try it before you buy it. You can buy fragrance at just about every department store, many online stores and even convenience stores. Amazon is a great place to purchase fragrance from, but you can’t sample before purchase.

There are several ways to apply fragrance. You need to apply enough to last all day but not over do it. There is definitely a limit to how much you should use. Depending on the strength you should apply on your pulse points. About 3 sprays on the back of the neck, a spray on each wrist (do not rub your wrists together), and I spray a couple spray on my clothing (don’t spray a cloud and walk into it because most of it falls to the floor).

I have tried several different fragrances and I have about 5 in my rotation now and I alternate daily. I do this so people don’t get used to it and end up ignoring it. I like for people to know when I walk into a room. My top 10 fragrances that are around $50 - $70 and available on Amazon are:
