The Jordan Brand is celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Michael Jordan’s basketball Hall of Fame induction speech from 2009 with an Air Jordan 1 “Fearless” Pack. This Air Jordan 1 Mid sports a traditional Black, Gym Red, and White makeup.
It features a Black nubuck upper with Gym Red stitching throughout that includes printed text on the laces and a Jewel Swoosh logo on the sides atop a White midsole and Red rubber outsole. Completing the design is a quote from MJ’s basketball Hall of Fame induction speech that reads, “Limits, like fear, are often just an illusion” with a line through the bold word “FEAR” printed on the insoles.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid “Fearless” released during the Holiday 2019 Season at selected retailers and Nike.com. The retail price tag is set at $130 USD.
I found my particular pair at Finish Line online. They were priced at $130.00, this is a small price to have a pair of the limited release shoes. After tax and shipping (I opted for 2 day express shipping) the total came out to be $166.00. Finish Line got me my shoes 2 days later (just as promised). I will definitely go back there in the future, but that is a whole different blog post in itself.
Upon receiving that Jordan 1s I was very excited (like a kid at Christmas). As I opened the beautiful red and black box I was noticing all the details. First thing I noticed were the black laces. The black laces have “Who said man wasn’t meant to fly” written on the laces. The entire lace has that written on them. They also come with red laces, but nothing is written on them (which is kind of a letdown). The next thing I noticed was the tag hanging on the shoe that said on one side FEAR whit a line through it and on the other side it says “LIMITS, LIKE, FEARS, ARE OFTEN AN ILLUSION” and has Jordan’s signature. The inside has FEAR logo on the insole.
This is my first pair of Jordan 1s. When I saw them on the Finish Line website I immediately fell in love. I had to grab a pair. When putting these on for the first time I noticed exactly how hard a mid-top shoe is to put on. After finally getting these on the laces (which I love and are one of the reasons I purchased these) are very difficult to tighten and lace up and to actually get the written side of the laces correct so you can see them. I have worn the shoes now 4 times and I have to say for a flat bottom shoe they are pretty comfortable. They do feel a little hard when you walk but hey, beauty is pain, right? If you’re looking for a very comfortable shoe keep looking, but if you want a shoe that looks good, and turns a lot of heads this is the ones for you!
I can’t count the compliments I have received for these shoes. They grab lots of attention. I guess the question is “will I buy more Jordan 1s?’ The answer is yes and an astounding yes, even. There are many Jordan 1s out there in many different color ways and they are producing more and more. So my recommendation is try a pair out you may find your next signature shoe.
