In today’s world we want to dress great, but some of us can‘t afford a lot of different clothing. Most of us have to make do with what we have. I am about to tell you how to build a wardrobe with a few key pieces so you can look like you have a lot of clothes. The following is clothes you mix and match every day for a different look.

Footwear:

A man needs 1 pair of white sneakers. I like Nike Air Force Ones others prefer a more subdued shoe like the Adidas Stan Smith which are retro Tennis court shoes. A pair of black Jordan Ones is a great versatile shoe. A pair of boots (either brown or black) are also essential. I prefer to have one of each color. I also prefer Dr Martens boots but there are other boots out there like the Kenneth Cole Reaction Corey Flex Boot or a nice Chelsea boot. You need a pair of dress shoes like the Calvin Klein Bran Oxford shoe.

Pants:

I recommend a nice pair of black skinny jeans, a pair of dark wash skinny blue jeans. You can manage to have a pretty good wardrobe with just 2 pairs of jeans. If you think you would be comfortable a pair of white jeans are a great piece to add to your wardrobe(some guys aren’t comfortable wearing these). More pants that’s needed are slim or skinny chinos. Chinos are the most versatile pants ever! You can dress them up or down wear with practically anything and they come in many colors. I recommend dark colors but get what ever you think you can wear. Another is a pair of trousers or dress pants and blue, black and charcoal grey is the way to go you can wear these with any of your shirts. This is the perfect pants for the office. As you get more comfortable you can wear “loud” color chinos and these really make a statement. I love cobalt blue, burgundy, green or yellow chinos. I wear them fir most occasions. The key is the fit. I’ll add a fit blog soon!

Shirts:

I recommend at least two dress shirts, one light blue and white one. The fit of these are key, so no loose fabrics or sleeves too long. A tailer is recommended if you have theK funds, and if not purchase a slim fit or size down (if you wear a medium go for small). Another shirt would have to be a polo. Everyone needs a nice fitting polo shirt. I prefer a few in different colors just to mix it up, but a black, a white and a grey one would be enough. A Henley is a great and flexible shirt to have. I suggest the same colors as the polo. Some nice button up oxford shirts are also great to have in a few different colors. A T-shirt is the last of the shirts. Many people recommend solid color shirts but I believe in mixing things up. I like some solid color t-shirts but I love graphic t-shirts.

Jackets:

My favorite jacket to wear is the leather (or faux or vegan leather) motorcycle jacket. It looks great with every thing you wear it’s edgy and you can make it dressy it’s just an all around perfect jacket! Another versatile jacket is the denim jacket. You can pair this with any outfit and it’s light enough to wear all year. I recommend a blue one or a distressed blue. If you have the funds a black one is great also. Like I said you can wear it with about any kind of pants(just starting away from matching jacket to pants). A sport coat is a great jacket to have you can pair a charcoal or black sport coat with all the pants mentioned here. A camel overcoat is a favorite of coat mine to wear. You can wear it all year but it’s perfect for fall, spring and winter. You can dress it up or dress it down.

Add ons for the winter and summer months: For the winter you can add a hoodie under your motorcycle jacket, denim jacket or overcoat. Add a puffer jacket and you’re set for the winter. You can add some flannel shirts and maybe pair of winter boots and thick socks. That added to above will have your winter covered.

For summer add some shorts (at or above the knee) some t-shirts and tank tops and you are set.

Most of these are available at Amazon and the others I found at Asos
